Malala Light and Sound Show Lighting PreVis
This project was completed during my internship with Dimensional Innovations for the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. We had all the existing graphics for the show, however we could not physically see the space to get a sense of perspective. Since the room was thin and narrow, it was important to know how much of the show would be in the viewer’s field of view.
Another challenge of this project was combining the projectors with the physical space. We needed to know where the projectors would be casting shadows in the room, to avoid important graphics and information being put there. Thus, I created a shadow matte of the space, using the exact dimensions of the projector setups, to replicate the physically accurate shadows that would be seen in the space. This allowed me to apply the shadows to the previs video and any still images we were testing out.
